Vanquishes squished?

Last I posted, I planned to do one Vanquish a day for my title-chasing project in Guild Wars. But as they always say, life is what happens to you while you're making plans.

Leading up to Guild Wars' 5th anniversary last April, new content was gradually added into the GW world. Entitled Guild Wars Beyond, these updates sought to bridge the 250-year gap between the first Guild Wars and GW2, and tie up some loose ends in the process.

We see Zinn, creator of our Dervish hero M.O.X., called to stand trial for the destruction his golems P.O.X., N.O.X. and R.O.X. wrought throughout Tyria.

We see Krytan rebels The Shining Blade rally behind Princess Salma, illegitimate heir to the Krytan throne, in her bid to regain her country from the oppressive grip of the White Mantle. The ensuing Mantle crackdown and the Shining Blade's countermoves (occupation of Lion's Arch!) are chronicled in the War in Kryta.

As a result of these updates, most of the wildlife (aka mobs) in the Krytan exploreable zones have been replaced with White Mantle groups. They're as balanced and dangerous as the Charr groups up in the Eye of the North, having dual professions like players do, and with several party members sporting resurrection skills.  Unprepared groups can have long, ugly, drawn-out battles with this bunch.

With Salma occupying Lion's Arch, she issued several bounties daily on White Mantle leaders, a la Zaishen Bounties.

So two birds in one stone: I get to play the new content, and if all goes well, go on to Vanquish the zone I'm doing the bounty in.  Since in Hard Mode I usually kill most visible mobs right away so I won't be surprised with unexpected aggro, this plays well into my Vanquishing goals.

Still have lots of areas to do in Tyria, I suppose this is as good a place to start as any. Which reminds me, I have to update my Rohar's Roughnecks Progress Tracker.

Off I go, catch you later!
